SD Bell’s Breakfast Tea Tea Bags are a full-flavoured, yet smooth breakfast-style tea from Kenya.
Almost all of the UK teabag market is served using machinery that requires the heat-sealing of ‘paper’ teabags, which are paper, infused with hemp and polypropylene. Historically, without ‘pp’, tea bags would not seal effectively.
Our teabags themselves are now made of a ‘paper’ called PuriSeal, a sustainable wood-pulp paper infused with PLA (polylactide), a vegetable starch-based bioplastic and are therefore 100% biodegradable. The foil pouch that contains the teabags is also made from the same PLA.
This exciting development demonstrates SD Bell’s continued commitment to the eradication of all hydrocarbon-based plastics from our product packaging.
