The Kangaita Estate is located in the extremely fertile and productive tea region south of Mount Kenya. KTDA Cooperative factory is a fair-trade certified facility which supports hundreds of local farmers, selling its teas at a premium with the surplus funds used on community projects.
From one of the very few tea gardens in Kenya specialising in orthodox leaf teas, this is a pure delight. A very large Pekoe leaf that releases its flavour very gently, the result is smooth and flowery, yet left for several minutes, will produce a strong liquor and rich brew. A further benefit of such a large, unbroken leaf is that it invites a second brew. Go on, top up the teapot and go again!
